In the method, alum or any other salt which is formed during the treatment of alumina or potassium carbonate with sulphuric acid is ground and subjected to a heat treatment and then mixed with ground and heat-treated magnesium sulphate and the sodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and optionally with sodium bicarbonate.
