PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent electrophotographic characteristic, by holding the first conductive layer, which is provided on a recording material, in a prescribed potential surely with a simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:In respect to a recording material 1, a conductive layer 14 consisting of a metallic vapor-deposition layer is formed on the surface of a base layer 13, and a recording layer 15 consisting of photoconductive materials is formed on the surface of the layer 14, and band-shaped conductive coated films 16a and 16b consisting of the mixture between a conductive fine powder such as carbon and metallic powder and a binder are formed in both side end parts on the surface of the recording layer 15. When a light 21 to be absorbed to the recording layer 14 is irradiated to the recording layer 14 near the conductive coated film 16b from a light source 24, the impedance in the part of the recording layer 14 is lowered to give conductivity, and thus, the conductive layer 14 and the conductive coated film 16b are conductive to each other, and the conductive layer 14 is held in zero volt through an earthing means 20 in cooperation with the side of the conductive coated film 16a. |
