PURPOSE:To obtain a photographic magenta coupler enhanced in both of speed and maximal density of color formation, prevented from fog and yellow stains, and moreover, improved in instability of color formation due to aging, by using a specified magenta coupler. CONSTITUTION:The purpose is attained by using a photographic magenta coupler expressed by general formulaI, and embodied by formula II. Magenta couplers having such a structure are excellent in photographic characteristics, such as resistance to yellow staining, and improved in storage stability, permitting wide use in color photography for reducing silver consumption. It was found that the use of the coupler of formula II, resulted in obtaining high color formation sensitivity and high maximum density, but nevertheless, increasing fog very little. |
