PURPOSE:To wind up a chain securely, by a method wherein a pair of pins of a winding-up head are located on both sides of a chain, and then the pins are engaged into the chain through the rotation of the head, in a device for winding up a roller chain or the like into a small form at the time of packaging. CONSTITUTION:After the chain 3 in a guide groove 4 is dropped into a receiving groove 15 of a receiving table 12, the winding-up head 17 is moved downwards by operating a cylinder 29, is moved to a drawing-out port provided in an intermediate part of the groove 15, and a pair of pins 21, 21 provided at the lower surface of the head 17 are located on both sides of the chain 3. Then, a support member is moved forwards by operating a cylinder, and the head 17 is moved forwards while rotating clockwise by the functions of a rack 28 and a pinion 27. By the rotation of the head 17, the pair of pins 21 are engaged into an intermediate part of the chain 3 on the table 12, and the chain 3 is completely wound up by the pins 21. |
