PURPOSE:To put plural couples of heads in writing operation by giving a previously stored time difference to the writing start of each head, and then only instructing the 1st head to start writing through a tape where a conventional ID is written. CONSTITUTION:A storage means of previously storing the difference (ty) in starting time between the 1st and 2nd writing heads is provided, and a function for generating a timing signal (f) for the start of the 2nd writing a prescribed time ty-alpha after the start of the 1st writing is also provided. This signal (f) turns on the 2nd writing signal (g) a writing start processing time alpha of a controller after said clock signal rises. The signal (g) allows the 2nd writing head to start writing data. After the start of the data writing by the 2nd writing head, the 2nd reading head starts reading a prescribed time later as shown by (b). |
