PURPOSE:To provide a single-acting cylinder device having a short stroke which can operate smoothly by retaining a piston substantially concentrically with a cylinder body so as to prevent inclination or eccentricity of the piston. CONSTITUTION:A spring member 21 is fitted in a projection 22 at the inner peripheral portion thereof, and in a concave portion 23 at the outer peripheral portion thereof, whereby the eccentricity of a piston head 16a can be prevented effectively. The projection 22 is provided with a plurality of radial openings 30 communicating with a circular hole 13, which are peripherally disposed at regular pitches thereon. If a piston 16 is eccentric due to a lateral load, the operating fluid flowing in and out from the openings functions in retaining the piston at a normal position. Accordingly, the eccentricity of the piston 16 can be prevented further effectively, and a cylinder device can be operated smoothly and stably during a long period of time. |
