<p>This invention relates to storage bins for seed with perforated floors for aerating the seed. Conventional bins have perforations drilled perpendicular to the plane of the floor. The disadvantage of blockage by seed is overcome and a strong floor is provided by a structure comprising outer walls, a roof and a base, a perforated supporting floor for said seed spaced from the base, a blower for driving air into the space between said floor and said base for percolation through and aeration of seed on said floor, said perforation supporting floor comprising, at least in part, dented and louvered slots providing apertures facing in a direction substantially parallel to the plane of the floor and an absence of upwardly facing apertures, said apertures being small enough not to permit the passage of seed to any substantial extent, the dented slots providing a corrugating effect to ehhance the strength of said floor.</p> |
