<p>An appts. for the after-moulding treatment of blown containers includes a series of in-line work stations through which the articles are indexed in succession. The stations comprises a flash removal station (I), a further machining station (II) and a leak detecting and dimension checking station (III). By having the stations in line on a single device an increase in throughput is achieved. Pref. containers are received from a moulding machine along a belt, orientated to the correct position, and gripped between 'walking' releasable clamp members which move them step-by-step through the stations. At station (I) the articles are gripped between upper and lower elements and cut by a movable cutting element. At station (II) a nozzle is lowered onto the neck of the article to pressurise it, leaks being detected by a drop in pressure. If the article is too tall or too short pressurisation does not occur and the article is rejected.</p> |
