The replaceable closure (6), such as may be used instead of a shoe (1) lace or the like, comprises a strap consisting of two parts (8,9) which are stitched (7) together and each form one half of a hook pile type closure (e.g. like Velcron,RTM). The strap is inserted through slots (4,5) in the two parts to be connected (e.g. flaps 2,3 of the shoe upper). One end (8) of the strap is provided with a stop (10) to retain it behind the corresponding slot (5) and the free end (9) is secured to the retained end (8) via the pile closure.FL.
