PURPOSE:A novel bacterium, Streptomyces sulfonofaciens and the preparation of antibiotic SF-2103 A by the cultivation of the bacterium. CONSTITUTION:A novel strain, Streptomyces sulfonofaciens SF-2103 strain (FERM BP-5) belonging to the genus Streptomyces, capable of producing antibiotic SF-2103 A, is inoculated into a nutrient medium, cultivated under aerobic conditions, preferably by submerged culture, at 20-35 deg.C, preferably at 23-30 deg.C, and antibiotic SF-2103 A is collected from the culture mold. |
