PURPOSE:To prepare cellulase having a stable pH range of 4-9, especially high enzymatic activity in a pH range of approximately 8, by cultivating a microorganism belonging to the genus Coprinus. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism such as Coprinus cinereus KK-37M (FERM-P 6072) belonging to the genus Coprinus, capable of producing cellulase, is inoculated into a nutrient medium, cultivated in a pH of >=5.5, preferably 6-9 at 25-40 deg.C, preferably 30-37 deg.C for about 2-10 days, and cellulase is collected from the culture filtrate. |
