PURPOSE:To lengthen the service life safely without lowering the photoelectric conversion efficiency by immersing an electrode where the melosyanine coloring matter layer is formed on an n type semiconductor ohmic contacting with the metal on the substrate and the facing electrode having the work factor higher than that of said metal. CONSTITUTION:An n type semiconductor 5 ohmic contacting with the metal 4 on a substrate 3, an electrode formed with a melocyanine coloring matter macromolecular compound layer 6 and a facing electrode made of a metal 7 having the work factor higher than that of the metal 4 are immersed in the electrolytic liquid 2. When irradiating the light 9 onto the n type semiconductor 5, the power can be taken out from the metals 4, 7 through the power take-out lines 8, 9. This photoelectric converter is stable and has long service life and excellent photoelectric conversion efficiency. |
