PURPOSE:To form a thin rod-shaped electrode good roundness by performing the electric discharge processing, in which the side face of a rotating material for electrode is approached to another electrode. CONSTITUTION:A thin rod-shaped electrode 1 rotated by a motor 5 in order to process a small hole through electric discharge processing is approached to another electrode 2 for carrying out the processing, and thereby a high precision electrode 1 with good roundness is formed. A pulse generator 13 emits a pulse for one revolution of electrode 1, and the pulses generated are fed into an AND gate 14. If the interpolar voltage is over a certain reference value while the electrode 1 makes a turn, the output from a comparator 20 will be zero and the table 6 be moved by pulses having passed through the AND gate 14, and thus the electrode 1 approaches the other electrode 2. If the voltage generated is under the reference value during the turn, the table 6 does not move and the interpolar relation will remain as it is. |
