NEW MATERIAL:DC-45-A1 (R= a group shown by formula II, and A1 for short) shown by the formulaI(R is a group shown by the formula II or H) and DC- 45-A2 (A2 for short). USE:An antibacterial agent effective against various kinds of bacteria. Useful as an intermediate for A2, A1, and their derivatives. PROCESS:A bacterium[e.g., Spreptomyces bottropensis (FERM-P 5219, NRRL 12051)]belonging to the genus Streptomyces, capable of producing A1 and/or A2 is inoculated into a medium, A1 and/or A2 are accumulated in the culture, and collected. A1 is also obtained by subjecting at least one of DC-45-A(A) and DC- 45-B2(B) to acidolysis. A2 is prepared by subjecting at least one of A, B2, and A1 to acidolysis by prolonging the decomposition time or by using an acid with high concentration. |
