PURPOSE:To increase retaining force of abrasive grain by melting frit in such a way that frit particle is added in specific capacity into metal particle in which abrasive grain is mixed, and after formation is done under pressure, it is sintered. CONSTITUTION:For metal particle as metal bond, copper tin alloy, or a trace of addition of various metals, carbide and oxide is used. Abrasive grain, such as diamond particle is mixed with the metal particle, and further frit particle is added as much as 5 to 30% in its capacity. This is filled in a metal mold, and after it is made into the determined shape by means of forming under pressure or forming under heat and pressure, it is sintered and finished at temperatures in response of varieties of metal particle. When sintering is done, frit particle becomes melting condition at the sintering temperature, it is broken in with metals and at the same time as it is strongly combined alternately with metals, air bubbles are generated on the frit itself and around its periphery, it becomes porous condition as the whole grinding stone, bond hardness is increased, abrasive grain retaining force is augmented, further the bond wear is properly held, and self-producing action of the edge faces can be promoted. |
