<p>The safety relief valve has a body (1) with a stepped bore. The valve seat (11) is supported in the larger bore on a bush (13) retained by a circlip (14). The exhaust ports (12) are located just above the valve seat. The sliding valve has a larger diameter section which covers the exhaust ports and a reduced diameter section (8). The reduced section fits into the upper bore of the body and is sealed by an 'O' ring (9). A spring (5), adjusted by the screw (3) exerts a closing pressure on the valve. Due to the different areas above and below the valve, a differential pressure tending to open the valve is resisted by the light spring.</p> |
