Device for heat transfer and/or mass transfer between at least two fluids by means of hollow fibres whose open ends are embedded in a casting (sealing, potting) compound and which are arranged in the form of a hollow-fibre module in a housing. In this arrangement, an intermediate ring and seals are arranged between the housing and the points where the hollow-fibre module is embedded in the casting compound. In the case of a defective seal, leaked fluid can pass to the outside through a bore in the housing, thus preventing a short circuit between the various fluid chambers of the housing. The intermediate ring is permanently connected to the housing surface. A plurality of hollow-fibre modules can be arranged in a common housing. The hollow-fibre module can be surrounded by a perforated support tube. The device is particularly suitable for cross-flow filtration.
