The invention relates to a rubber-covered cylinder for sheet-fed rotary printing machines for processing different thicknesses of paper. The object of the invention consists in guaranteeing a selective fitting of the rubber-covered cylinder with a hard or a soft coating with optimum processing of different thicknesses of paper. The object is achieved in that a flat-parallel, rigid spacing film is arranged between the elastic coating and the rubber-covered cylinder, which spacing film is attached by clamping elements arranged additionally on both sides of the cylinder gap.
