<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a hoop having qualities excellent in bendability, etc., by providing, for a high-strength sheet metal for baling hoop, a composition which consists of specific amounts of C, Si, and Mn and the balance Fe with impurities and in which Si/Mn by weight is regulated to a specified value or above. CONSTITUTION:The high-strength sheet metal for baling hoop has a composition which consists of, by weight, 0.05-0.25% C, 0.3-2.0% Si, 0.6-3.0% Mn, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and in which Si/Mn by weight is regulated to >=0.45. Further, the hoop has mechanical properties of >=0.75 yield ratio, >=0.50 uniform elongation ratio by JIS No.5 tension test of 50mm gauge length, and >=0.75 notch strength ratio. Moreover, at least one element selected from P, Cu, Cr, Ni, etc., each in a specific quantity or less, is further incorporated to the above composition, if necessary. In this way, the hoop steel sheet combining high quality with high strength having >=80kg/mm<2> tensile strength can be obtained.</p> |
