<p>Thermoplastics yarns are crimped-in a compaction chamber in which the outlet end of the compacted yarn mass is subjected to oscillation about a predetermined location in consequence of sensing of the deviation from such a location and controlling a parameter which influences the deviation- in that period of the oscillation is measured and the control of the parameter is set such that the period is maintained below a predetermined value. Device is used for crimping polyolefin, polyamide, polyester or polypropylene yarns. Cumbersome measurement of yarn denier is obviated in yarn quality control.</p> |
