The invention relates to a release barrier water tank for suppressing coal-dust and/or fire-damp explosions in underground operations which is held by spars or the like fastened to the support system and is equipped with a blasting tube containing a blasting charge with igniter and ignition wires. So that mass-produced water tanks can be used on the one hand and so that theft is made much more difficult on the other hand, it is proposed according to the invention that the blasting tube (15) be arranged in a cage (8, 14) which is fastened to the spars (5) by means of a holder (7) extending right into the interior of the water tank (1). The holder (7) is formed by one or two arms (9) which are arranged at a distance from one another and on whose ends extending into the interior of the tank (1) the cage (8, 14) is located, while their ends extending to the outside are fastened to cross pieces (6) which are held on the spars (5). <IMAGE>
