An electrical installation apparatus (10), especially a contactor, has at least one switching point (32, 34) which has a stationary contact element (28, 30) and a moving contact element (24, 26) and is arranged in a switching chamber housing (50). In the case of a contactor, at least one double contact point is provided. Connecting plug tabs (40 and 42 respectively) are integrally formed on the stationary contact elements (28, 30) and are inserted in a latching manner in the installation apparatus housing, together with the stationary contact elements (28, 30). In order to shield the connecting tabs (40, 42) against electrically conductive parts falling out, and in order to achieve adequate leakage paths and air gaps between the connecting tabs of the individual double contact points (32, 34), covering housings (74, 76) are provided which have openings (92, 94, 96, 98) corresponding to the number of connecting plug tabs, and through which openings the individual connecting plug tabs are accessible from the outside. The covering housings are latched on the one hand to the connecting tabs themselves and on the other hand over projections (128, 132) or lugs (130, 134) which engage in a latching manner in grooves (112) or behind offsets (steps) (120), the latching points being located in planes which run at right angles to one another. <IMAGE>
