Garden chopper with charging hopper

A chopper for garden waste has a drive which is arranged underneath a chopping mechanism and a charging hopper, arranged upright above the chopping mechanism, for the material to be chopped. In order to avoid causing noise pollution when operating such a garden chopper, a noise preventer is to be provided on it. Therefore, the hopper of the chopper has an inner wall and an outer wall arranged at a distance therefrom, it being possible for the intermediate space between the inner wall and the outer wall to be filled with sound-damping material or for the outer wall itself to be produced from a sound-damping material.
