The invention discloses a pivotable rope guide which is mounted in front of a rope winch and which consists of an annular, rotatably mounted holder (3) and two rope rollers (5, 6) mounted on the holder. The rope rollers (5, 6) form between them a roller gap for the rope (2). The pivot axis of the holder (3) extends essentially perpendicular to the axes of the rope rollers (5, 6) and parallel to the running direction of the rope (2) between the rope guide and the rope winch. The distance (x) between the pivot axis of the holder (3) and the axis of the larger rope roller (5) is greater than the sum (y) of the effective radius of this rope roller and the rope radius. <IMAGE>
