The invention relates to a device and a process for producing tubular articles from flexible textile tubes. The stretchable textile tube is drawn onto a mandrel (10, 31) by means of a drawing-off device (7, 27) and tensioned until the contact angle of the textile filaments (9, 29) corresponds to the desired contact angle on the mandrel. For the production of multilayer tubular articles, the flexible textile tube may be introduced into the free inner space of the mandrel (31) by means of a shell sleeve (34), as a result of which, with each working stroke of the shell sleeve, two additional textile layers are built up. These textile layers are enlarged to the desired diameter of the tubular body by means of an expansion mandrel (36) and pressed.
