Screw feeder has a stationary core within a cylinder and one or more screw devices which are able to rotate around the core. The screw device can be driven from either the input or output end. The core can be moved axially backwards and forwards. The appts. includes an electrical heating element with an inlet for new materials and an outlet for the plasticised material. When the screw device e.g. a spring is driven from the inlet end the other end is free. The resistance pressure of the spring limits the pressure in the extruder- this is the low pressure mode. When the screw is driven from the other end, the extruder generates in a higher pressure mode. |
