PURPOSE:To perform the transmission and reception of data without receiving any effect of the level fluctuation of an optical system, by converting a transmission data into binary data and then transmitting the binary data simultaneously with a carrier which received modulation in luminance. CONSTITUTION:The transmitter side has rise and fall detecting circuits 1 and 2 plus positive and negative polarity pulse generating circuits 3 and 4. Thus the rise and fall are detected for a data signal SD and made to correspond to the level of binary data which transmits the pulse to be converted into the positive and negative polarity pulses. With these pulses, the luminance is modulated for a light emitting element 7 which transmits an optical signal of a certain level in the form of a carrier. While a carrier detecting circuit 17 is provided at the receiver side to convert the optical signal transmitted thrugh an optical fiber into an electric signal. This electric signal is converted into binary data when it is higher than a prescribed level. Thus both the transmission data and the carrier can be transmitted at one time at the transmitter side, and the receiver side can receive with high stability the transmission data although the level of an optical system has a change. |
