The object of the invention is to use the heat losses through the window panes for preheating room-ventilating air. This is achieved in that the ventilating stream of a ventilated insulated window enters on the weather side of the window and, after flowing through the pane interspaces, is channelled into the room located behind the window. Further claims present the configuration of the air-stream guiding means and air-stream production and the further heating of ventilating air in heat exchangers by the air which is to be replaced. <IMAGE>
