The invention relates to a device for manipulating coke oven doors, consisting of a car which is movable along one end face, containing the coke oven doors, of a coke oven battery and has a guide for a support structure, movable essentially perpendicular to the plane of the doors, for a coke oven door interlock which has a trunnion, support-mounted on the door, with key surfaces for a head, provided with counter surfaces, of a gear motor mounted on the support structure; the purpose is to reduce the stresses on the components stressed by the motorized actuation of the coke oven door interlock and to create the preconditions for an advantageous design of those parts of the car which serve for the generation of motive energy for individual devices fitted on the car, by providing that the gear motors are each designed as hydraulic motors of a hydrostatic drive, whose control valve connecting the pump line and the tank line to the conduits switches, in the locking phase, a pressure-limiting valve, whose limiting pressure is set lower than the system pressure in the unlocking phase, towards the pump line.
