1. Process for the preparation of sodium bicarbonate crystals, in which a carbonated ammoniacal brine is treated with a gas containing carbon dioxide, in a crystallisation chamber, in the presence of sodium bicarbonate crystals, and a stream of carbonated ammoniacal brine is simultaneously removed from the said chamber, cooled and recycled into the chamber, characterised in that the flow and/or the cooling of the stream of carbonated ammoniacal brine is adjusted so as progressively to lower the temperature of the carbonated ammoniacal brine in the crystallisation chamber from a maximum value of between 40 and 70 degrees C to a minimum value of between 15 and 30 degrees C, as the brine is being treated with the gas. |
