<p>PURPOSE:To avoid generating transverse streaks between printing lines, by a method wherein an auxiliary heating element is provided at a position above the uppermost heating element in each set of heating elements and the patterns produced by adjacent sets of heating elements are appropriately overlapped with each other, in a heat-sensitive head provided with a plurality of sets of plural heating elements. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive head 1 is provided with a plurality of sets A, B, C of plural heating elements X1, X2,...Xn with a spacing l therebetween, and an auxiliary heating element X0 is provided at a position above the uppermost heating element X1 in each of the sets. When producing a pattern P1 in a given printing line and thereafter producing a pattern P2 after a line feed, if the preceding pattern P1 has a part produced by the lowermost heating element Xn and the present-time pattern P2 has a part produced by the uppermost heating element X1 in the same line address in the preceding printing line (a) and the present-time printing line (b), the auxiliary heating element X0 at said line address is driven to produce a pattern P3, thereby connecting the patterns P1, P2 to each other.</p> |
