PURPOSE:To eliminate the moire and improve the picture quality, by storing a solid state pickup element within a package substrate, fixing a crystal plate onto the substrate as a cap and making the incident light separated by the crystal plate enter the contiguous picture element on the image pickup element. CONSTITUTION:A crystal plate 8 is fixed onto a ceramic substrate as a cap. The thickness of the plate 8 is set properly, and the incident light 7 has complex refraction through the plate 8 and is separated into incident lights 7a and 7b. These lights irradiate a contiguous picture element 6 of a solid state image pickup element 2. In other words, the thickness of the plate 8 is set so that the space between the lights 7a and 7b is set equal to the pitch space of the picture element. Thus the light entering a certain picture element also enters the contiguous picture element, and the signal frequency component fP is reduced. As a result, the folded component fS-fP is larger than the cutoff frequency fC. Thus no moire is observed ona monitor screen. |
