PURPOSE:To secure the specified total accuracy within a specified temperature range by a computer in a simple constitution, by digitally detecting the change in length by using a photoelectric digital linear gage, and processing the result by a microcomputer. CONSTITUTION:A detector 8 uses the photoelectric digital linear gage wherein the reading between the two points is set to zero in advance through a master gage. The digital quantity of the change in length from the detector 8 is added to the computer part 13 through a level converting circuit 9 and the like, and also added to the computer part 13 through a multiplexer 11 and a digital to digital converter 12. Then the inner width, the outer width, right angle degree, and the like are computed by easy software. The photoelectric digital linear gage, which is characterized by the same accuracy throughout all the strokes and the small change in accuracy with respect to the operating temperature, is used. In the simple constituion which does not require constant temperature compensation, the automatic detection of the size of the long pipe can be performed within the operating temperature range of 0-40 deg.C under the state the total accuracy of + or -1.5/1,000mm. is secured by the computer. |
