PURPOSE:To enable accurate gating of signals received by obtaining a gate signal corresponding to echols gnals received with a first ultrasonic probe based on echo signals received with a second probe from the surface of an object to be measured when both the ultrasonic probes are driven simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:An emmersing water holder case 1 is set on the surface of work M to be measured containing water W as liquid ultrasonic wave medium in such a manner as to move in the direction A-B. A vertical probe 2 for setting gate signals and a slant probe 3 for detecting defects are provided and a support screw 4 is provided in the holder case 1 to support the vertical probe 2 in the water W in such a manner as to be vertical to the surface of the work M while adjustable in the distance from the surface. A adjusting support screw 5 is provided in the holder case 1 to support the slant probe 3 in the water W such a manner as to be inclined at a certain angle to the surface of the work M while adjustable in the distance from the surface thereof. |
