A heat exchanger, typically a radiator for engine-cooling water, has oval or quasi-rectangular tubes (13) extending between the header plates (12) of header tanks. The tubes are prevented from inward bowing or collapse at the junction between each tube and the header plate by inserts (15) extending into the tube ends. The inserts (15) are supported by the header tank and may be connected together to form a comb-like structure, with each point of the comb inserted in a tube end. <IMAGE> |
