PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ACETALDEHYDE

A process is proposed which, for the preparation of 2-chloroacetamides, reacts diketene with hydrogen chloride to give acetoacetyl chloride, chlorinates this and reacts the chlorination product with amines to give the final product.
