PURPOSE:To simplify controlling and reduce the size of device by uniting two pair of noncontact detectors and a controlling device that moves the detectors along L-shaped objects to be welded interlocking it with a welding torch. CONSTITUTION:When welding the corner parts of L-shaped objects 1, 1' to be welded, noncontact detectors 2, 3, 2', 3' of different sensitive distance are used aligning mounting of their tips of heads. Or, detectors of the same sensitive distance are used shifting mounting position of the tips of the heads. Difference in the sensitive distance and mounting position are made very small and L-shaped noncontact detectors 2, 3, 2', 3' are moved along the side of L-shaped objects. When it is not possible to maintain parallel to L-shaped objects 1, 1' to be welded, controlling device 4, 4' are controlled in horizontal and vertical directions by on-off controlling signals of noncontact detectors. The corner parts of noncontact detectors comes on a diagonal line with the corner parts of L-shaped objects, 1, 1' to be welded, and tracks the weld line. |
