PURPOSE:To previously prevent the occurrence of scale defects, by jetting water under a specified high pressure for a specified time, in a period of rolling by a >=specified cumulative draft counted from the starting point of a hot rolling of a steel containing a specified quantity of Si, and at the >=specified ingot temperature. CONSTITUTION:A slab consisting of a steel containing 0.1-4% Si is hot-rolled to manufacture a hot rolled sheet. A descaling for a >=0.04sec. cumulative time is peformed by jetting high-press. water of 80-250kg/cm<2> within a period of rolling in a >=65% cumulative draft counted from the starting point of hot rolling, and at the >=1,000 deg.C ingot temperature. Thus descaling is performed intensively during a rolling step in which the scale is in the most easily exfoliative state in form and temperature. |
