Transformer HV windings embedded in resin - are terminated in projecting studs and LV windings tappings are brought out at winding ends

A transformer, has its high tension windings embedded in a synthetic resin. The windings are terminaled in radially protruding studs, which are formed into terminal tappings. The system is protected against the short circuit forces produced as a result of the unsymmetrical arrangement of the windings when switched to certain positions. The low tension windings (1) are designed as strip windings. The tappings (3) of the low tension windings are brought out at the start and finish of the high tension windings. There are moulded insulation barriers between the individual connections (5, 6) on the ends of the terminal studs (4).
