PURPOSE:To monitor the metability and flowing condition of powder easily and surely by detecting the surface temp. distributions of the ingot right under the mold, operating the max. temp. at each point in the width direction of the ingot and displaying the result graphically. CONSTITUTION:Molten steel 2 and casting powder 8 are supplied from a ladle 1 into a mold 3, by which an ingot 5 covered in slag film 9 is formed. The temp. distributions at plural points in the width direction of the ingot are detected with a temp. distribution detector 12 via an optical path feed 10, and a lens system 11, and the information thereof is stored in the storage circuit 22 in a controller 16 for detection of temp. distributions. Only the max. temps. at the respective points of the ingot 5 are picked up from the information stored in said circuit by an arithmetic device 24 and are displayed graphically. In accrdance with said data, the conditions on the ingot 5 of the powder 8 are monitored and the powder supply device is controlled. |
