PURPOSE:To obtain an apparatus suitable for the measurement of the inner diameter of a pipe with a relatively large diameter or a large inner surface, by mounting a rotary optical type distance meter, of which the rotation axis is aligned with the axis of a pipe on a travelable frame in the pipe to perform a distance measurement along the diameter of the pipe continuously. CONSTITUTION:A measuring apparatus is advanced through a pipe P to be measured to align the motor shaft 41 with the axis of the pipe P. As a drive motor 40 is driven with a power source such as battery, the motor shaft 41 also runs. As a disc 43 turns with the rotation of the shaft 41, a distance measurement is performed with an optical type distance meter 45 to determine the inner diameter of the pipe P being measured. On the other hand, the rotation of the motor shaft 41 is transmitted to a wheel shaft 22b through a belt 42 to rotate a wheel 21b mounted thereon and a frame 20, namely, the whole apparatus runs through the pipe P along the axis thereof. This enables the apparatus to measure the inner diameter of the pipe P quickly and continuously running through the pipe P. |
