PURPOSE:To provide a composite wire of superior slag detachability by contg. a flux consisting essentially of specific ratios of TiO2, SiO2 and deoxidative elements in a carbon steel sheath and contg. a specific content of Bi in the flux. CONSTITUTION:A flux consisting essentially of 1.7-10.0% TiO2 based on the weight of a wire, 0.1-3% SiO2 and 1.5-6% deoxidative elements is contained in a metallic sheath consisting of carbon steel, and total 0.001-0.5% Bi is contained in one or both of the packed flux and the sheath metal, whereby the composite wire for gas shielded welding is produced. There are Si, Mn, Al, Ti, Mg, etc. as the deoxidative elements used. |
