A curable resin composition comprising (A) 80 to 99 parts by weight of a polyfunctional cyanate ester, a cyanate ester prepolymer, or a prepolymer of a cyanate ester and an amine, and (B) 20 to 1 parts by weight of a polyimide of the following formula (I), (II) or (III) <IMAGE> (I) wherein n is an integer of from 1 to 5, <IMAGE> (II) wherein n is an integer of from 1 to 5, and R is -OH, -NH2, <IMAGE> (III) <IMAGE> wherein n is an integer of from 1 to 5.
