PURPOSE:To enable to absorb thermal contraction of a seal plate used in a low temp. tank made of concrete, by covering the inner surface of the concrete shell of an outer tank with a heat-insulating material, applying a seal plate with corrugation over the inner surface of said heat-insulating material and the bottom surface of the outer tank, and covering the top surface of the outer tank also with a heat-insulating material. CONSTITUTION:The inner surface of the concrete shell of an outer tank 3 is covered wholly with a heat-insulating material 5, and the upper surface of base concrete 1 is also covered with a heat-insulating material 6. Further, a seal plate 10, consisting of a side membrane 8 and a bottom membrane 9 formed with corrugation 7 for absorbing contraction and expansion in both of lateral and longitudinal directions, is applied over the inner surface of the heat-insulating material 5 and the upper surface of the heat-insulating material 6 applied over the outer surface of an inner tank 4. The top portion of the outer tank 3 is ocvered with a side plate 14 continuously in the circumferential direction, and a roofing plate 15 is applied over the top surface of the outer tank 3. Here, a heat-insulating material 16 is also provided on the inside of the side plate 14 and the roofing plate 15. |
