PURPOSE:To obtain a high orientation factor and to smooth the surface of a film, by making a substrate travel vertically toward a magnetic field existing between the orientating magnets and drying the film layer of the substrate which passes through the area between magnetic poles. CONSTITUTION:An orienting magnet 1 is formed with the magnetic cores 2a and 2b formed into such a shape in which the both end faces are opposite to each other with a prescribed space and a curvature and the solenoids 3a and 3b which are wound around the outer circumferences of the cores 2a and 2b. A tape-shape substrate 5 is made to travel on a guide plate 10 with a certain degree of tension and at a certain speed so that the surface of the substrate 5 is set vertical to the direction of the magnetic field between the cores 2a and 2b. While warm air or cold air is sprayed through a nozzle 11 onto the surface of a coated film layer 4 of the substrate passing between the cores 2a and 2b. |
