The device for joining the edges of plastic webs laid overlapping has a nozzle head (8) which is directed towards the nip or the contact line or contact surface between two pressure rolls (2, 3) and is intended for adhesive or solvent, or has a heating element. The pressure rolls are mounted floating on spindles directed towards one another. The spindles project from the ends of legs (4, 5), lying in different planes, of an essentially U-shaped holding element (1) which is movable on wheels or rollers (6, 7) along the web edges. Those wheels or rollers (6) which are leading in the direction of movement of the device during joining of the webs are simultaneously the lead-in wheels or rollers for feeding the lower web (19) to the nozzle head or heating element and to the pressure rolls. Moreover, the pressure rolls are connected to a motor in each case or connected to a motor via clutches which in each case are disengageable. A displacement and alignment of the webs before joining is thus made possible. <IMAGE> |
