PURPOSE:To detect humidity free of unfavorable influence from the environment in which the sensor is used by crossing and embedding two carbin fiber bodies in a humidity sensitive resin and detecting contact resistance between carbon fibers. CONSTITUTION:Carbon fibers A and B are arranged so that they cross each other, and a nylon film C that is a humidity sensitive resin is heated and pressurized to constitute a substrate 2 on which a film 1 is closely attached, the carbon fibers A and B beng melted into the film 1. Between any two electrodes that are adjacent to electrodes 3, 3, ..., a constant voltage or constant electric current is applied, and the contact resistance between the carbon fibers is detected between the remaining two electrodes. When the nylon film C absorbs humidity from the environment, it expands in the direction of its thickness, and the relation between the carbon fibers A and B changes due to this volume change, and the contact resistance between them changes. |
