EXHAUST GAS DETECTOR FOR AUTOMOBILE

摘要

PURPOSE:To detect exhaust gas conditions with a high reliability free from the influence of heat and vibration by optically connecting a light source and a photoelectric device through an optical fiber with a light releasing section and a light receiving section alone arranged along an exhaust passage. CONSTITUTION:Light from a light source 13 is transmitted to a light radiating section 11 thorugh an optical fiber 3 and released into an exhaust gas from a light releasing end 3a. It passes through the exhaust gas while being dampted according to components thereof and received on a light receiving end 12a of a light receiving section 12. The light received is transmitted to a photoelectric converter 14 through an optical fiber 4 and converted into an electrical signal which is transmitted to a control unit 8. Aur fed with an air pump 20 flows into an exhaust passage 15 through air introduction ports 18 and 19, and openings 16a and 17a to clean air near the light releasing section 11 and the light receiving section 12 thereby preventing pollution by the exhaust gas.
