PURPOSE:To simplify adjustment and eliminate a movable section by digitally processing signals with a storage type image sensor used in a light receiving system. CONSTITUTION:Infrared beam from an infrared light emitting diode 16 is reflected on an object 20 to be measured through a projection lens 18 and enters a plurality of light receiving elements of a storage type line sensor 26 by way of an infrared transmission filter 24 arranged with a fixed reference length (l) set from a lens 18 and a light receiving lens 22 to maximize the quantity of incidence light at the bit position corresponding to distance to an object 20. Video signals corresponding to each bit of the line sensor 26 are A-D converted 30 sequentially, written into a fixed address of a RAM32 and stored into a register 34. By acommand from a sequence controller 40, the position of the light receiving element is computed 36 as distance to an object 20 when the differential signal of the diode 16 becomes the largest between the lighting and non- lighting thereof. |
