PURPOSE:To produce a frame material of sufficient rust preventive effect with good productivity by spot welding a metal of a higher ionization tendency than iron to an aggregate made of iron by electric discharge welding. CONSTITUTION:Welding rods 2 are put in abutment on the proper places of the inside and outside surfaces of a U-shaped frame material 1 formed on a round bar of a suitable wire diameter, and receiving rolls 6 are disposed on the side opposite from the rods 2. The rods 2 are mounted to the gripping parts 8 of vibrators 7, which vibrators 7 are connected to the anodes of electric discharge covering devices 9, while the cathodes of the devices 9 are connected to pull rolls 4. A metal of a higher ionization tendency than iron such as zinc is welded continuously like spot welding with high efficiency by the electric discharge between the rods 2 abutting intermittently on the material 1 and the material 1. After the welding, the material 1 is cut and is subjected to various working for end parts, punching in middle walled parts and neck parts and proper painting is applied thereon. |
